Hello!
I'm Shannon.
HOW'D I GET INTO PHOTOGRAPHY?
I’ve always loved taking photos. My journey behind the lens started when I was a kid borrowing my parents’ camera, experimenting with different compositions and settings, and capturing anything that caught my eye. I loved the challenge of figuring things out on my own and the joy of seeing the world in new ways through the camera.
Over the years, I kept learning, growing, and creating — eventually studying Graphic Design at Ferris State University, where I also took a photography course that deepened my love for visual storytelling.
After photographing friends, family, and plenty of barn moments for years, I finally took the leap and turned my passion into a business. That’s when Shannon A Reid Photography and Design was born — now known as Shannon Aubrey Photography and Design.
I love taking time during every session to hear your story. How did you meet? What moments mean the most to you? What are your dreams — or even just a funny story that makes you smile? These conversations are the foundation of our session — the icebreaker that helps us connect and sets the tone for authentic, meaningful photos.
Once we’ve gotten to know each other, that’s when the fun really begins. I love to experiment with lighting, backdrops, and posing — you’ll often hear me say, “Let’s try this out!” (and occasionally, “Okay, scratch that!”). That creative process is where the magic happens.
I’m so grateful for clients who trust me enough to play, explore, and step outside their comfort zones to capture something truly special.
Where can you find me when i'm not at the barn?
We recently welcomed a new addition to our family — a little cowgirl of our own!
While I used to spend nearly every day at the barn with my two horses, these days I’m soaking up a bit more time at home with my two-legged baby… at least until she starts asking to ride her horses too.
I still love every second I get at the barn — doting on my mare, Sabrina, or training my youngster, Teddy. When I’m not there, you’ll find me cuddled up on the couch at home with my daughter, our furry crew, and, of course, spending a little time with my husband too.
Meet my furbabies!
